As a Commonwealth Government Agency, the Treasury is required to adhere to the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) in the implementation of risk management strategies, to ensure the safety, and security of its people, information and property. The Treasury contracts a security service provider for the provision of Security Guarding Services (Services) as part of this strategy.

The Treasury requires the Services in its Canberra (the Treasury Building, Langton Crescent, Parkes), Melbourne (Levels 7 and 16, 530 Collins Street), Sydney (Levels 23 and 29, 201 Kent Street) and Perth (Level 5, 255 St George Terrace) locations. The Services for Canberra are 24 hour x 7 days per week, and for the other sites business hours Monday to Friday.

The Services include:

a) supervisor services,
b) on-site receptionist services,
c) static and roving guarding patrol services,
d) on-site monitoring of security systems and alarm response,
e) pass management, and
f) control room operations
g) mail handling,
h) audits of security related equipment and systems,
i) occasional receipt and dispatch of packages at the reception points, and
j) ad-hoc duties, as required by Treasury.

The Treasury expects the Service Provider will have a national footprint, be licensed and insured to operate in the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Victoria, and Western Australia, and supply uniformed personnel:

a) that are directly employed by the Service Provider and not subcontracted,
b) with the appropriate level of skills, qualifications and experience to provide the required Services to a high standard,
c) with a mix of (predominantly) Negative Vetting 1 and Negative Vetting 2 security clearances, and
d) that present neatly and professionally.
