Provision of air services to remote and isolated areas of the Channel Country of South Australia and Queensland
The Remote Air Services Subsidy (RASS) Scheme’s objective is to provide communities in remote and isolated areas of Australia with access through a regular air transport service for the carriage of passengers and goods (eg, educational materials, medicines, fresh food and other urgent supplies). Because of the distances involved, and the fact that road access to many of these communities is often cut for several months during the wet season, a regular air service may offer the only reliable means of transport.
The Tenderer must hold an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) with the required authorisations to conduct the Services in compliance with aviation safety requirements as determined by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).
12 months initial period with the option to extend for up to an additional 12 months.
