This is a pre-release notice only to provide advance notification that the Department of Defence anticipates that it will commence a single stage, open tender process in July 2024 for the appointment of contractors to the Defence Infrastructure Panel – Major Construction 2025 – 2030 (Panel).
It is anticipated that successful Tenderers will be appointed to the Panel in February 2025. The initial term of the Panel ends five (5) years after commencement of the term and is subject to the Commonwealth exercising options to extend for up to a further three (3) additional years.
Any timeframes are indicative only and subject to change.
Following the release of the Defence Strategic Review 2023, the 2024 National Defence Strategy and the 2024 Integrated Investment Program, it is anticipated that there will be an ongoing and significant requirement for the delivery of major construction and capital facilities projects to support the Commonwealth's defence capability and sustainment requirements. The Panel is being established to support the efficient procurement and delivery of projects valued at or above $200 million. The Tender Documents, once released, will contain more detail of the types of Works that may be sought from contractors under the Panel.
Potential tenderers should regularly check AusTender for updates, rather than approaching Defence personnel. All official information about the proposed tender will be published on AusTender in accordance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules – potential tenderers should not rely on information from other sources.
