Request for Proposal for the Provision of Management and Service Delivery of Menu and Mealtime Reviews
The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety identified food and nutrition as one of the four areas of concern in aged care requiring immediate attention. In response the government has introduced a number of measures to improve the capability of the aged care sector to provide high quality food, nutrition and dining services. This includes the 2023-24 budget measure, Building a strong regulatory framework for Aged Care: Strengthening Nutrition. Under this initiative, the government has committed to the delivery of up to 1,000 menu and mealtime reviews (MMR) in residential aged care homes, led by Accredited Practising Dietitians.
This Request for Proposal is for the management and service delivery of these MMRs with the aim of improving the food, nutrition and dining experiences of residents in residential aged care services and National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flexible Aged Care Program services nationwide.
The Commonwealth is seeking to engage one or more suppliers (whether individually or in consortium) who are capable of sourcing, managing and delivering a workforce of Accredited Practising Dietitians that can perform MMR services onsite in RACS/NATSIFACPS which will be located in metropolitan, regional and/or remote areas.
