Procurement of a childcare centre operator in the John Gorton Campus Carpark
This is a pre-release notice only, to provide advance notification that the Department of Finance (Finance) anticipates a single-stage open market Request for Tender (RFT) for a Childcare Centre Facility Operator within the John Gorton Campus Carpark (JGC Carpark) in Parkes, ACT. It is anticipated that relevant RFT documentation will be released through AusTender in late 2024. This notice does not commit Finance to the procurement activity.
The JGC Carpark is under construction with completion due in late 2024. It is a Finance-owned asset. The carpark will include a childcare centre with approximately 2581m2 of internal space and 1860m2 of external space.
The Base Build Contractor for the JGC Carpark is responsible for the construction of the childcare centre to a level of cold shell, with the internal and external fitout to be completed by the future childcare operator. The future operator will be required to develop the detailed design and complete the fitout to meet the requirements under law, including the ACT Regulatory Authority, Children’s Education and Care Assurance.
Potential tenderers should regularly check AusTender for updates, rather than approaching Finance personnel. All official information about the proposed tender will be published on AusTender in accordance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules - potential tenderers should not rely on information from other sources and must not approach any Finance personnel regarding the anticipated RFT.
Finance is releasing this notice solely for the purpose of providing information and advising industry of the upcoming approach to market for the Childcare Centre Facility Operator within the JGC Carpark in Parkes, ACT. Any dates, times or information is subject to change at Finance's discretion.
More information will be made available when the RFT documents are published.
The RFT will require potential tenderers to manage any conflicts of interest (actual, potential or perceived) that they may have and potential tenderers should consider conflicts of interest at this early stage.
