Expert mentoring and advice services for the mentorship element under the Boosting Female Founders Initiative 2020–21
Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Darwin, Hobart
The Department is seeking strong diversity in establishing the pool of mentors, including businesses from regional and remote locations and encourages, businesses with experience assisting Indigenous or migrant owned businesses or with startup founders with a disability. The Department is seeking responses from organisations that have skills, experience and networks in one or more of the following:
(a) understanding of Australia’s startup ecosystem
(b) an understanding of the specific needs and additional challenges faced by women-founded startups
(c) a proven track record working with women-founded startups, including those from Indigenous, migrant and refugee backgrounds and from regional and remote Australia
(d) experience in innovation, business creation and modelling
(e) experience in investment, boosting innovation and entrepreneurship
(f) previous experience in other mentoring programmes
(g) have actively contributed to improve Australia’s startup ecosystem directly or indirectly as described under the Evaluation Criteria given below.
The responding mentor organisations should advise of their specific areas of expertise in providing expert business advisory services in areas to help women owned and led startups. This includes, but not limited to, one or more of the following areas:
advertising, advisory boards, brand development/branding, budgeting and forecasting, business design and development, business model innovation, business management and strategy, communications, content creation, customer engagement, cyber security, ecommerce, emerging technology, entrepreneurship, exporting, finance, fundraising, go to market strategy, how to attract funding and/or angel investors, human resources, innovation, intellectual property, investing, IT, leadership development, management, marketing, market positioning, media, negotiations, partners and alliances, pitching and story board, product management, recruitment, sales, scaling up, strategy, sustainability, systems development, team building, technology, transportation and logistics, UX/UI, valuation, value proposition.
