Commercial Space Surveillance and Tracking Data
The Commonwealth is increasingly reliant on space capabilities to achieve military effectiveness across all domains. Space is recognised as an increasingly congested, contested and competitive operational domain as both commercial enterprises and nation states expand their presence in space.
Defence Space Command (DSpC) intends to conduct procurements of global Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) space surveillance and tracking data as a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) to meet Defence's SDA requirements. These procurements will be from multiple vendors and conducted over short periods (such as monthly) to facilitate agility and keep pace with Commercial developments. Space Surveillance and Tracking data will be accessed by Defence through the Unified Data Library.
This will be done via the Global Data Marketplace with the first going live now on Marketplace. The Global Data Marketplace acts as an intermediary and broker to provide governments, insurance industry, and commercial spacecraft operators with access to the commercial space industry SDA data providers while also providing accountability for data provided onto the UDL. Initially, Defence is seeking Radar observation ('RADARObservations' schema in UDL) and Electro-Optical ('EOObservations' schema in UDL) observations, for all orbital regimes.
Vendors interested in providing commercial Space Domain Awareness data for Defence Space Command should, if they are not already, register with the Global Data Marketplace at https://www.globaldatamarketplace.com/marketplace/#/
Performance Work Statements released onto the Global Data Marketplace will outline specific space surveillance and tracking data requirements and time frames. Proposals (submissions) should be submitted via the website in accordance with marketplace instructions.
Participtation for Providers is free of charge on the Global Data Marketplace. Providers will need to comply with Conditions of participation accessible through the registration process at the Global Data Marketplace website https://www.globaldatamarketplace.com/marketplace/#/
