Strategic Procurement Outlook
The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) is a separate Government entity established under the Australian Information Commissioner Act 2010, responsible for protecting and promoting privacy and information access rights.
The functions of the OAIC are to ensure the proper handling of personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 and other legislation, to secure the public’s right to access information and promoting open government under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 and to perform strategic functions relating to information management policy and practice in the Australian Government.
