Strategic Procurement Outlook
The SSAT was originally established in 1975 by the Honourable WG (Bill) Hayden to review appealed decisions made by the then Department of Social Security. It is now a statutory body established under the Social Security (Administration) Act 1999 to conduct merits review of administrative decisions made under the social security law, the family assistance law, child support law and various other pieces of legislation. These activities shape the Tribunal's procurement outlook. From time to time significant procurement activities are required in the areas of facilities fit-out and management, ITC development and infrastructure projects, as well as specialist legal advice and assistance.
