Supply and maintenance of IT equipment
The Department is seeking to purchase approximately 2400 desktops PCs and 400 laptops to replace its current fleet within 6 months after signing of the contract.
The new equipment must be sufficiently reliable, secure and cost-effective to meet current demands and provide a platform for future growth. In particular, the equipment should meet requirements for: reliability and performance; compatibility with Vista Business operating system; and system security.
Maintenance services should ensure that: Desktop PCs and laptops are repaired promptly; and equipment failures are recorded.
Tenders may be submitted for Desktop PCs only, Laptops only, or both Desktop PCs and laptops.
The Department currently provides support for the Department of Resources Energy and Tourism (DRET). The DRET requirements are included in the scope of this approach to market.
The tenderer and any subcontractors proposed in the tender must not be named as not complying with the Equal Employment Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Act 1999 (Cth).
The tenderer and any subcontractors proposed in the tender are not insolvent, bankrupt, in liquidation, or under administration or receivership.
The tenderer must be capable of providing 8 x 5 x NBD onsite warranty for the life of the warranty/maintenance agreement.
The initial term of the contract with the successful Tenderer will begin on the Commencement Date and expires on 30 June 2009, unless terminated earlier. The Department is seeking to purchase the desktops PCs and laptops to replace its current fleet within 6 months after signing of the contract. The Department may decide at its sole discretion to extend the contract for a further 2 x 1 year extensions.
