National Health Reform Enterprise Data Warehouse Program

The Department of Health and Ageing is inviting interested parties to attend an Industry Briefing to provide information on the upcoming tenders for the National Health Reform Enterprise Data Warehouse (NHR EDW) Program. The briefing will include information on the planned engagement with industry and the market approach along with a précis of business details and objectives.
The program is a component of the wider National Health Reform agenda that is being developed by the Commonwealth. The key deliverables of the NHR EDW Program are to:
a. Build the ICT capability for national reform stakeholders, including the Department of Health and Ageing, the Independent Hospital Pricing Authority, the National Health Performance Authority, National Health Funding Body and the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care;
b. Build an ICT capability which is extensible over time to provide access to data to States and Territories and other agencies as part of health reform; and
c. Ensure compliance with rigorous privacy and security standards.
The RFT's will encompass 3 streams:
1. an enterprise data warehouse platform, system integration services and an ongoing managed service for the NHR EDW system;
2. a business intelligence suite of tools and data submission portal; and
3. a panel of specialist data warehousing and business intelligence service providers.
The RFTs will not include Data Centres or WAN communications.
Attendance at the industry brief will be open to interested parties who have registered to attend. Registrations are invited by no later than 1700h on Tuesday, 9 August 2011.
