Development of Indigenous Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Clearinghouse articles
Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Darwin, Hobart
Clearinghouse publications should do the following:
Provide background to the topic area, focusing on what the data says, key issues and the policy context
Outline the programs or initiatives that have been implemented to address these issues, assessing the evidence relating to these and highlighting processes or strategies that are critical to the implementation of these programs
Synthesise the evidence from evaluations of relevant programs or initiatives and noting what works and what does not work. Include relevant contextual information that can impact on the success of programs or affect their potential adaptation or scalability to Indigenous Australians
Identify limitations with the data and gaps in the data and research base. Note resulting implications and opportunities for strengthening Indigenous mental health and suicide prevention evidence
Prioritise research and evidence from the Australian Indigenous context. Where relevant, authors should consider other sources of research and evidence, including research and evidence relating to (a) Indigenous peoples from other countries and (b) the mainstream Australian population.
