The Foundation Skills for Your Future Remote Community Pilots (the Pilots) were announced as part of the $585 million Skills Package ‘Delivering Skills for Today and Tomorrow’. The Government will invest $9.9 million over three years to pilot language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills (LLND) training delivery models in four remote communities; one in each of Western Australia, Northern Territory, Northern Queensland and South Australia.
The Department of Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business (the Department) is conducting a two-stage procurement process to identify potential Indigenous service providers’ capable working with remote communities to co-design and deliver adult LLND training and assessment services.
Respondents are required to nominate in their Response the Remote Communities in which they could deliver a Pilot. The Department may shortlist one or more Respondents to participate in mandatory Workshops focused on the design and delivery of the Pilots.
Following the Workshops, the Department expects to undertake the second stage of the procurement process and issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) to shortlisted Respondents.
This procurement is being undertaken in accordance with the mandatory set-aside under the Indigenous Procurement Policy (IPP). Accordingly, it is a Condition for Participation that the Respondent is an Indigenous Small and Medium Enterprise (SME).
