The Enhanced Human Performance Theme seeks to leverage the research strengths across the Australian research environment to deliver a capability edge for the ADF in the areas of personnel selection, preparation and performance for current and future missions.
The Enhanced Human Performance Theme of the Next Generation Technologies Fund (NGTF) intends to publish an open call for study proposals in the area of Human Biotechnologies. Applicants will be invited to propose research and development plans for one of two projects;
1. The Performance Patch project aims to advance the real time measurement and prediction of Warfighter readiness and performance.
2. The Cognitive Gut project aims to enhance Warfighter cognitive performance and resilience through the adaptation of the gut microbiome.
DST will provide a research program brief to all interested parties via Microsoft Teams on 27th January 2021. This will provide an opportunity for clarifications and questions to be raised. Any further questions after this brief will need to be provide in writing with DST providing a written response that will be provided to all parties. Nominations to attend the briefing are to be forwarded in writing to the Contact Officer by Lisa Headley via email (lisa.headley@dst.defence.gov.au) by 25th January to be provided a Microsoft Teams invite. For security purposes: Full Name, Organisation, Position, Mobile Telephone No., and email address of all nominated personnel are to be included at the time of nomination
Potential Suppliers wishing to respond to this procurement will be required to fully comply with and meet the following conditions for participation:
a. Clause 5 - Statement of Tax Record;
b. Clause 8 - Defence Security requirements;
c. Applicants must hold an Australian Business Number (ABN) or a New Zealand Business Number (NZBN) to participate in this procurement.
