ATM 22/3730 Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) Trial
Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Darwin, Hobart
As part of the 2022 Update to the Australian Antarctic Strategy and 20 Year Action Plan, the Australian Government has identified a range of priorities including the need to expand our presence in Antarctica whilst minimising our environmental impact. This objective includes the goal of establishing a suite of autonomous monitoring and research capabilities. The first step of meeting this priority is to trial autonomous technologies that could assist the Australian Antarctic Program to deliver strategic science outcomes and meet our Australian Antarctic Data Centre (AADC) data requirements.
This procurement is for the engagement of a Supplier to provide and operate an Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) for a trial in the Southern Ocean (including within the Antarctic Treaty System area South of 60°S), the Australian Antarctic Territories and the area proximate to the Australian Territories of Heard and McDonald Islands.
Further detail may be found in the Statement of Requirement.
The supply must be provided in accordance with the Statement of Requirement (SoR) in the ATM and subject to the terms and conditions set out in, or referred to, in ATM 22/3730 Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) Trial.
It is anticipated that the contract will take effect from Tuesday 21 February, and that the initial trial will conclude on 31 March 2024.
